who I am?

About me

My name is Tamas, and I am a film director and a wedding photographer living in London.

While I am developing my first feature film (which takes a lot of time!) I am documenting weddings across the UK and abroad.

Being a kid I was attending a drawing school at weekends which allowed me to channel my emotions and imagination into something that I could share. Drawing and painting played an important role also in my teenage years. Soon I discovered that I am not only passionate about visual expression but also about storytelling. I was curious about people, and wanted to understand their true motivations. Watching my father's famous classic movies collection had a huge impact on me and I decided to become a film director. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest as a director, and in 2019, I moved to London to do my master studies in film directing at the National Film and Television School, which is considered to be one of the best film schools in the world. While directing eight short fiction films and one short documentary I had the opportunity to further explore visual storytelling. It’s always a personal journey about articulating something important for me. Some of my films were invited to prestigious international film festivals, amongst them Oscar and European Film Awards nominating festivals. Some of them got awarded too. I am currently developing my first feature film in the UK which was supported by the British Film Institute’s Early Development Fund. But back to my photography journey…

My journey into wedding photography began at my own wedding, when we started to discuss what kind of photos we were really looking for. Looking at photographers’ work made me think about what our wedding really means to me. How do we want to see ourselves? I saw many different styles, many of them felt forcefully positive, missing the real character. I realised what I was looking for was authenticity no matter the aesthetics. And there I could connect to my filmmaker self. I was thinking that capturing genuine gestures and emotions is already familiar from shooting documentaries. I was thinking, this is something I would enjoy doing. First I documented our friends’ wedding, which was really rewarding and soon after I started shooting weddings professionally.

My Approach
I gained experience on film sets, I know how to stay calm and be supportive and almost invisibly present.

My approach to wedding photography is centered around documenting the unique story of each couple. I focus on capturing emotionally charged moments. Every wedding is different, and I believe in tailoring my perspective to highlight the individuality of each couple. From the hidden gestures to the celebratory moments, my goal is to ensure that every important moment is preserved with authenticity. My aim is to be simple yet playful. It’s good to have concepts, but I always pay attention to what's really in front of my lens, and go with the flow. It’s key for me to make couples feel comfortable and at ease, allowing their personalities to really come across. The result is a carefully selected collection of photos that tells a story as unique as the couple themselves. I am editing and selecting each of my photos with care, avoiding any AI system, or removing or changing things in photoshop. I would like to respect what happened in the moment, and give it back how I saw it. For me, wedding photography isn’t just about creating strong images — I try to capture the perfection of imperfection.
