who I am?
My journey
My name is Tamas, I’m a wedding photographer and film director based in London.
I document weddings across the UK and abroad.
During my teenage years, drawing and painting became an important way for me to channel my emotions and imagination. Soon I realised my curiosity about people and their stories grew stronger than my love for visual expression alone. I was curious about people and wanted to understand what drives them, and share how I see them. That’s why I chose to make films, and become a film director. After graduating as a film director in Budapest, I continued my film studies at the National Film and Television School in London. I’ve directed several short films that screened and won awards at international film festivals, and I’m now developing my debut feature with support from the British Film Institute’s Early Development Fund.
My journey into wedding photography began with my own wedding. As we looked through different photographers’ work trying to choose one, it made me deeply think about what our wedding really meant to me, and how I wanted to see ourselves. It became clear to me that I was looking for authenticity. That search for genuine emotion connected deeply with my filmmaking experience. Capturing truthful moments and giving them back how people felt them is my goal as a photographer. After photographing a few weddings, I realised how much I loved it. There is something deeply rewarding about capturing emotions as they unfolded, exactly as I see them.
My Approach
Working on film sets taught me to stay calm and observant, to notice the quiet, real moments that make a story. That’s what I bring to weddings: photos that show how it felt, not just how it looked.
My approach to wedding photography is rooted in storytelling. Every couple has their own rhythm, their own small universe, and I’m there to capture it as it unfolds. I look for the moments charged with emotion: a glance, a quiet touch, a burst of laughter that says everything without words. Every wedding is different, and I love adapting my perspective to reflect each couple’s individuality. Each wedding is a new story that writes itself in real time. I like to keep things simple yet alive, letting the day breathe and flow naturally. When couples feel at ease when they forget about the camera, that’s when magic happens. Every image is chosen and refined by me, with care and intention. For me, wedding photography is about giving the moments back as I experienced them: honest, imperfect, and full of life. Capturing the beauty in imperfection.
